The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’s mother told him, “They have no more wine.”4 “Dear women, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.”5 But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” The story so far tells abt the time Jesus and his disciples were invited to a wedding at Cana and they went meaning the accepted the invitation. Its spiritual to attend weddings after all its God who introduced marriage. In the course of the event it was discovered that the host had run out of wine. It’s not written who discovered this and how this reached to Mary the mother of Jesus. Upon hearing this Mary went straight to Jesus and told him that they have no more wine and she turned to the servants and told them whatever he tells you just do it. The question i had was what made Mary to have that boldness to confront Jesus with the hope of having him solve the problem at hand. Ofcourse we are not told how many pple came to attend the wedding bt am believing that many pple attended the wedding. Jesus responded by saying woman that’s not our problem and my time has not yet come. The response from Jesus did not move Mary an inch she just instructed the servants and left the scene. So Jesus was left and i am having a picture of Jesus standing or sitting whatever the position and the servants looking up to Him for further instructions. But I am challenged by Mary boldness to tell Jesus abt the problem at hand. Am also made to believe that Mary knew Jesus had a word/instruction that would bring a change to the problems at hand and the change would be ofcourse POSITIVE. Let us look back and find out something abt Mary a bit right? ok let’s go to the book of Luke 1:26-38 38 Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her.

Mary remembered the time an angel visited her and delivered to her a message which seemed impossible but God told her all things are possible so when she heard about the issue of wine she just thought ahhh this nothing God is able to do it coz am a testimony of this, i believe she even remembered how Joseph wanted to divorce her but thanks to God’s intervention. Maybe the people there at the wedding were murmuring about the wine who knows. So when she told the servants to do whatever Jesus said she knew what she was talking about.

images ‎THE POWER OF MEDITATION – Luke 2:8-20 Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David. 18 All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished, 19 but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. Jesus is now born and the shepherds had an encounter with the angel who told them abt Jesus, they went to look for this SAVIOUR MESSIAH AND LORD and after they saw him they spread the news abt him allover and this caused great astonishment. We are told that Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought abt them often wow so amazing Mary keeping all she hears abt Jesus, i can see Mary when she had baby Jesus in her lap she said ohhh my God am holding MY SAVIOUR, MESSIAH and LORD, this is not an ordinary person. The more she thought abt this the more she had revelation of WHO JESUS WAS – So Mary when she approached Jesus she knew she was not approaching a mere person bt DIVINITY. JESUS CONFIRMED HIS IDENTITY AT 12 YEARS OLD -Luke 2:41-52 49 “But why did you need to search?” he asked. “Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”[d] 50 But they didn’t understand what he meant. The above verse sums everything. This was a time when the parents went in search of Jesus and they found Him in the Temple. When they asked him why he had done so, the response he gave them was enough. He told them Hey look here I MUST underline the word MUST be in my FATHER’S HOUSE, ohhhh so this son that we thought is ours belong to someone else??? Father’s house – Temple ehh this is serious business – This child belongs to God so all along this child knew his true Identity. So based on the above Mary had all the boldness to approach Jesus and ask for his intervention. THE SERVANTS – WALKED AND ACTED THEIR FAITH Faith comes by hearing the word of God A servant by nature is a person who acts on the instruction given to him or her by his master. He is submissive to his master regardless how he is treated. So basically he acts on instructions and in the absence of instructions he can’t do anything. Mary told the servants that Jesus whom she had believed to be able to solve the problem at hand had a WORD/INSTRUCTION which the servants need to act upon. Paul says I am a servant of JC meaning to say JC is my master and I only do what my Master tells me to do. JESUS INSTRUCTION TO THE SERVANTS – 7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When Mary said this to the servant we don’t know whether she waited there or she left the place bt whatever the case we are left with a situation whereby the servants are looking up to Jesus, ears ready to hear the instruction and Jesus opened his mouth and spoke out Words that would bring change – Ohhhh Halleluah every word that comes out of the mouth of Jesus is VERY VITAL HENCE NEED TO PAY CLOSE ATTENTION The following were the instruction:- Fill the water pots with water – It should be known that the servants were told to fill the water pots which were six of them to the full. Am not sure how many servants were there and how much each water pot was able to accommodate but am sure there was abundance of wine at the end of it because our God is the God of abundance. So the instruction given to fill the water pots guys lets face it we have been brought up kumudzi or even here in town at time madzi amasiya and the thought of carrying even one bucketfull of water is a pain to us let alone to fill a drum with water. It really takes someone with the heart of the servant to do the assignment at hand faithfully and remember in those times they did not have water pipes like we have in this modern times so you can understand these servants. And they filled them up to the brim – The Servants acted on the word and surely the water was filled to the brim. How long it took them we don’t know but one thing for sure Stage One was done and before them was WATER and what is expected is WINE. So the servants still wait for another instruction and here it comes And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. Ahhhhhh hey hear this guys, the normal person would say ahhhh man pause kaye, what are trying to achieve now ahhhhh???? you are telling me to do what???? Are you kidding?? U are telling me to draw WATER and take it to the MC, Man what is needed is wine not water all I am seeing before me is Water, don’t you have eyes to see, ohh the poor guy being controlled by the five senses, are we not like this guy too? Blessed is the one who believes even before he see the manifestation. But no let’s see how these SERVANTS handled the matter, zoona a servant’s attitude is the best in dealing with the WORD OF GOD. The servants went back to the water jugs with their cups or whatever they used to draw the water and i believe they also had to take a very good cup to present it to the MC. What trying time for the SERVANTS, maybe they were saying in their hands ‘Ohhh i don’t know but am just acting on the instruction whatever happens let it happen but i will do my job as a servant i will serve my masters Jesus i think He was moved by the FAITH of the SERVANTS coz true it was water that they had put to the brim and they acted on the WORD and when he saw them moving Jesus also moved, but i just don’t know at what point in time did the WATER TURN INTO WATER and also the distance that was between the SERVANTS AND THE MC but one thing for sure that is recorded in the word is that 9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, Jesus displayed His nature that He is a good master who cannot cause his servants to suffer shame and he was pleased with the servants coz they acted on his word by FAITH, don’t u know that without faith its impossible to please God – can you and i emulate these SERVANTS who never question the WORD of God even when it seems impossible NOW WE WANT TO LOOK AT JESUS – WHAT’S HIS AIM IN ALL THIS? JOHN 2:11 HAS THE ANSWER 11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him. So the miracle aimed at displaying HIS GLORY AND BELIEVING IN HIM. The disciples of Jesus are the ones who are mentioned that they believed in him. John 1:14 one of the disciples of Jesus wrote this “So the Word became flesh and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness and we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only son. Jesus therefore displayed his glory in the following manner:- When Mary said to him they have no more WINE – Something clicked a bell in Jesus and this caused him to move and act. He knew it was a great embarrassment to have wine run out at a wedding according to their custom but to Him it meant something more coz the absence of Wine pointed out to something greater in his life and let’s see what it was. The Word WINE is used 5 times in this story as follows:- ‎And when they wanted wine, They have no wine. ‎ Tasted the water that was made wine Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine. But thou hast kept the good wine until now. Point 1 – 5 The people wanted wine so Jesus saw the desire of wine in the hearts of people but the wine that was wanted was not available but when it was made available whoever tasted it confirmed that it was good wine and also testified that the good wine was kept throughout the whole ceremony against the tradition that says when men have well drunk, then that which is worse is served to them. It’s so amazing that the word WINE is mentioned 5 times and do u know that the number 5 is a representation of God’s GRACE on Mankind for Paul says in Ephesians 2;8 For by Grace you are saved thru faith and that not of yourselves it’s a gift of God. Just like the 6 stone water jars that Jesus saw “And there were set there six water pots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews’ The number 6 represent Man and after the manner of the purifying represents the Law which man used to follow in order to be made right with God. So Jesus see how man is helpless though he desires wine he comes in an offer a better WINE and what is this WINE??? WINE – BLOOD OF JESUS – Matthew 26:27 – 27 And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, 28 for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant[e] between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many. So Jesus saw before him a people who were in need of forgiveness those people who have accepted his invitation for salvation in the same manner the people have accepted the wedding invitation, so His Blood made forgiveness available and whoever came into contact with this blood experienced the sweetness that comes with forgiveness and the people will testify of its sweetness of forgiveness and also confirms that the same forgiveness that comes because of the Blood remain in the good status that is to say even if people continue to enjoy the sweetness of forgiveness today they will continue to experience it in the same way even long after as opposed to the offering of bad/cheap wine at the end. Brothers and Sisters when GRACE FACES THE LAW = THE GLORY OF THE LORD IS REVEALED AND PPLE BELIEVE. Remember without the shedding of the BLOOD there was no forgiveness of sin.
