Almost 36 people are reported dead in Tanzania after a bus which was carrying pupils lost control, it crashed and fell into a steep valley along the road at Karatu in Arusha at around 9:30am on Saturday.
The bus in question carried 38 people and amongst them only two have survived and they are being treated in one of the health facilities in Arusha.
According to reports from the Eastern country, the pupils killed in the accident are aged between 12 and 13 from Lucky Vincent primary school in the district.
It is reported that the pupils with their teachers on Saturday morning were on their way to visit another school by the name Tumaini for exams.
Tanzanian police are still investigating the incident to determine if it was caused by a mechanical defect or human error on the part of the driver.
The president of Tanzania, John Magufuli described the accident as a national tragedy.
