In a bid to strengthen the gunners squad, Arsenal have signed Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka who was plying his trade in Germany with Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 23 year old midfielder who made his first debut for Switzerland in 2011, has won 41 international caps. He has joined the Emirates team on a long term contract but the fee is yet to be disclosed.
After signing the contract with the gunners, Granit said he is excited to join his dream team and he is ready to help Arsenal win trophies.
“I don’t know how to express my feelings right now. I am overwhelmed and I can’t wait to move to London and start playing in the Premier League and win trophies with Arsenal”, said Xhaka.
The gunners coach, Arsene Wenger, welcomed the prolific midfielder with excitement and he is certain that he will add more quality to the team.
“I have been following him for a long time, he has a different talent and I am sure he will add more quality to my squad”, said Wenger.
The player will join the gunners side after the 15th edition of Euro 2016 which will be hosted in France from 10 June to 10 July 2016.
During the 2015-2016 Barclays Premier League season, Arsenal finished second with 71 points behind the champions Leicester City who secured 81 points from 38 league games.
