The body of a 6-year-old boy was found at a construction site in Valhalla Park, Western Cape police said on Sunday.
The boy, found on Saturday afternoon, was believed to have drowned in a hole filled with water, said spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut.
He was reported missing on Friday evening.
Traut did not confirm whether the body belonged to that of Brita Douglas Trompetter, 6, whose disappearance was also reported on Friday.
According to a missing poster, Trompetter was last seen playing at the skatepark in Valhalla Park.
He was wearing a blue top, grey pants and rain boots at the time of his disappearance.
Bishop Lavis SAPS reported Trompetter’s disappearance on his Facebook page. He also added a comment to the post to confirm his body was found in an excavation pit on a construction site in the area.
