Three young men from Asante Bekwai in the Ashanti Region who wanted to become rich overnight by a way of rituals turned bizarre when one of them allegedly turned into a cat after sleeping in a coffin for seven days.
The three young men identified by the Ghanaian media are Kwadwo Kumasi, 28; Yaw Mensah, 37, and Kwame Osei, 26.
Reports from Ghana indicates that these men contacted a popular Sangoma, at Sefwi Asawinso in the Western Region, to perform rituals for them to become rich overnight, but the rituals went wrong.
As part of the rituals, the Sangoma identified as identified as Mallam Kantanka instructed them to sleep in a coffin in turns for seven days.
After being instructed to do so, Kwadwo Kumasi sacrificed himself to be the first to sleep in the casket so that he should be the first to get rich, while the remaining two waited for their turns.
When the first seven days elapsed, it is alledged that two of the friends went to check on Mallam Kantanka (the sangoma) at his shrine but he was nowhere to be seen.
After discovering that the Sangoma has disappeared, they went back to check on Kumasi who had slept in the coffin but unfortunately they did not find him there instead there was a cat and some amount of money.
This development worried his friends who quickly reported the case to the police at Asawinso.
Currently the Police are investingating the matter and rumours indicates that the Sangoma has told the guys that they should also sleep in casket for seven days so that their friend should come back to a human being.
