Police in Kasungu have arrested Lameck Milanzi, 27 for sneaking into the female’s hostels at Kasungu Teachers Training College (TTC) where he made away with assorted properties belonging to the students.
According to a Police report made available to News Watch Reviews by Kasungu Police deputy publist, Harry Namwaza demonstrates that Milanzi who works as a watchman at Kasungu TTC on Thursday, November 17, 2016 committed the crime after convincing his fellow workmate, Stelia Jobe, 38, who was on duty to knock off before time and that he would take over the duties from her.
“After Stelia Jobo had left, it is alleged that Milanzi strode into the hostels of female students whilst they were in class and stole various items”.
When the students reported the matter to the campass management, attempts were made to investigate the person who was on duty when the items got stolen.
“Thats when it was discovered that, Milanzi had deliberately relieved Jobo of her duties to create room for him to commit an offence. Milanzi was arrested in the morning hours of November 21, 2016 and has been charged with the offence of Theft”, said Harry.
Lameck Milanzi who hails from Vidzumo village under Traditional Authority Mwase in Kasungu district will appear before court when police enquiries are completed.
