Thousands of people took to the streets to party in honour the carnival – it is an old Caribbean tradition which displays colours and music. The Metropolitan Police also confirmed they had arrested 47 people on charges of different crimes, Including sexual offences, drugs offences and possession of weapons, theft and public disorder.
Four persons were stabbed at the Notting Hill Carnival in London and one man is currently fighting for his life.
The man was rushed to hospital by emergency services after they were called to Wornington Road at 4.25pm. Scotland Yard said to have arrested a man on suspicion. The other three male were also taken to hospital.
A facial recognition system is also in place to help identify wanted criminals, using cameras to scan faces of people coming to the carnival. During the week, the police force have arrested over 200 people believed to be planning to use the carnival as a violence ground. Over 250 warrants to search culprits were also issued.
The police is working hard to make sure that the Carnival is a safe and enjoyable for everyone.
