It is a historic day for the warriors of Zimbabwe after qualifying for the 2017 AFCON which will be hosted in Gabon.
Zimbabwe has beaten Malawi 3-0 in their qualifying match in Zimbabwe.
The Zimbabwean national team, popularly known as the “Warriors”, outsmarted the flames in all departments and this was their third time to qualify for AFCON.
Their Belgium based striker Knowledge Musona gave the warriors an early lead through a penalty which Malawi conceded after Charles Swini fouled the lethal strike in the box, before Khama Billiat adding a second goal through a brilliant cross from Musona.
Flames hopes of qualifying were doomed by a last minute goal from Cuthbert Malajila who outsmarted Charles Swini in the air to head home a third goal.
The warriors have topped their group with 11 points which will not be surpassed by any team from their group. Swaziland are behind Zimbabwe after beating Guinea 1-0.
