In a quest to create a safe and secure Malawi, the police in the central region, through its urban stations, Criminal Investigations Department (CID) team have recovered assorted properties from individuals who are being suspected of receiving stolen properties within the capital city.
This ongoing operation is targeting all wanted criminals who are subjected for perpetrating, aiding and abetting all sorts of crimes occurring within and outside Lilongwe.
speaking to News Watch Reviews, Lilongwe police deputy relations officer Kaitano Peter Lubrino said this is part of their agenda to curb crime in the country.
“We will crackdown all perpetrators in the country so that we should create a crime free environment”, he said.
Among other things that the police have recovered include nine laptops, assorted cell phones, cameras and many more accessories. This has been yielded as a result of cordial relationship that exists between the police and the general public.
Following this development the police is informing the general public mainly those who at one time endured a victim of crime and their properties were stolen but were not recovered to come forward and report at Central Region Police Headquarters for identification.
While recognizing and appreciating the contributions and participation of some patriotic citizens and stakeholders in security service delivery, the police would like to appeal to the general public to partner with it and share all information leading to the arrest of all criminals in the country.
