Police in the northern City of Malawi, Mzuzu, are looking for a man, Alex Mbisa, 34, who alledgedly murdered his wife during early hours of Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Hilltop location in the City.
Mzuzu Police spokesperson Martin Bwanali identified the woman as Enifa Goba, 33 and she was selling in a family shop at Taifa market.
“It is reported suspect who is currently at large was in Lilongwe few days ago. While there, he heard his wife was picked up in a vehicle by a certain man heading to Nkhata Bay for social comfort”, said Martin.
News Watch Reviews understands that after receiving such information, the suspect furiously started off for Mzuzu and reached home during the wee hours of Saturday.
“He found Enifa home and at around 0400 hours a fight broke up which left Enifa seriously injured. Neighbours rushed her to St Johns hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival”, concluded Martin.
When police officers visited the crime scene, they found beddings stained with blood while other clothes were just scattered in the room. Furthermore, some broken wooden sticks believed to have been used in the assault were found in the room.
Preliminary postmortem results at St Johns Hospital indicated that death was due to internal injury.
The suspect who hails from Kapoka village in the area of Traditional Authority Mwaulambia in Chitipa district if arrested will answer a murder charge contrary to section 209 of the Penal Code.
Meanwhile, Police are urging the general public to report to the nearest Police Station if they have spotted Mr Alex Mbisa.
