A Malawian musician who is currently residing in South Africa has discovered a way to help the population which is living in solace conditions.
The 32 year old Olmosssie Charles Yekosi Phiri has created a group called OYC Charity Networks which is aimed at collecting various used and new stuff for the less priviledged people in Malawi.
Speaking to News Watch Reviews, Charles said those used items will be distributed to the people who will be under their supervision.
“We are collecting used stuff but in good condition or new stuff, cash of any currency. Our aim is to put a hope on those people who are orphans, eldery people and widows.
Charles said some students drop out from school because of financial problems hence cutting short their carreers in life.
“This initiative will help us to send back to school the drop outs and encourage them in several ways so that their dreams should be fulfilled”, he added.
According to him, the only thing which prompted him to create this platform of helping others is the way he lived during his childhood days in Nkhata Bay.
“In my life I have learnt that helping each other or supporting each should be ones priority. I grew up by being helped by others. I lost my dad while I was 15 and grew up with a single parent who was not working because of her mental problem. I have been helped by relatives and some well wishers”, he confered.
The gospel musician said this has been his vision to do this thing to other and he believes that with other people out there who will receive this message will come forward and give a helping to those who are in need.
“We have branches here in South Africa and in Malawi its in Nkhata Bay district. I want to fulfill my dreams of doing something for the communities in Malawi. I am sure that this initiative will reach greater heights”, said Charles.
Meanwhile, Charles is calling upon all Churches, religious groups, individuals, companies and organisations to come forward and help him to build this initiative together.
Those who are willing to donate or partner him can contact him at email@example.com or whatsapp him on + 27730941452. They can also like his Facebook page OYC Charity Networks.
