A woman and her two brothers are in police custody for brutally killing her husband, Scot Sumaili, police has said.
The Malawi Police in Salima district arrested a wife to the deceased, Maria Fanuel and her two brothers, Majidu John, 30 years and Juma Kazembe, 43 years on allegations of killing Scot Sumaili.
According to Salima police relations officer, Gift Chitowe, he said on the night of 4th June 2016, the deceased quarreled with his wife, this resulted into a fight. While fighting, the deceased overpowered his wife, then the lady grabbed and pulled down the private parts of the deceased to the extent that he fainted.
“After seeing that her husband has fainted, she then called his brothers Majidu John and Juma Kazembe to help her carry deceased to a nearby bush where they hanged him to a tree as one way of disguising the evidence”, said Chitowe.
The deceased was found the following day hanging in a tree near Chembe’s graveyard. Salima District Hospital conducted postmortem which revealed that death was due to trauma and internal bleeding.
The three suspects comes from Chembe Village in the area of Traditional Authourity Maganga in District Salima
