The South African football giant, Orlando Pirates will be looking for a new coach to take over from Muhsin Ertugral who has resigned after being thumped by Supersport United on Tuesday.
A heavy defeat they received from Supersport United on Tueday evening, made Muhsin Ertugral to quit and Orlando Pirates have confirmed that they have parted ways with their current coach.
The Turkish coach’s resignation came in the wake of Orlando Pirates’ 6-1 defeat to Supersport United in their Absa Premiership encounter on Tuseday at Mbombela Stadium.
The Pirates coach, Ertugral who took over the reigns from Eric Tinkler, announced last night during a post match interview against SuperSport United that he would be meeting with Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza to hand in his resignation letter.
“I will just meet Irvin Khoza to hand in my resignation letter. We don’t deserve wearing this jersey because it is an embarrassing defeat to us.”, he was quoted saying.
He added, “I have never experienced such a disastrous first 45 minutes like this in the teams I have coached. Its completely a blackout”.
On Wednesday morning, Pirates football club called a press conference to discuss the issue which was raised by Ertugral the he is leaving the club. The club has now confirmed that they have gone their separate ways with the Turkish coach.
Orlando Pirates Chairman, Irvin Khoza has accepted coach Muhsin Ertugral’s resignation which came via email after the game.
However the Chairmain was not pleased with the way his out-going coach handled the situation saying that he would have met with the club first before speaking on television.
“We wish him the best of luck wherever he is going. But I would’ve loved for him to engage us first before speaking to the media”, said Irvin.
