Police in Kasungu have arrested Posiyano Kaomba in connection to the murder of Tebulo Nguluwe, 62, who was brutally murdered during the night of 4-5 September, 2016.
Kasungu Police deputy relations officer told News Watch Reviews that on the material date and time, the deceased left his home around 1900 hours for hunting with a bamboo stick and a torch.
The deceased was found lying dead the following morning on September 5, 2016 near a certain garden within Kaneya village in the area of Sub Traditional Authority Chitanthamapiri.
“The deceased had bullet wounds which showed that he was shot. After visiting the scene of crime, police launched a manhunt and in the course of enquiring the matter, Posiyano Kaomba was arrested”, said Namwaza.
“It is further alleged that, the deceased had a misunderstanding with the suspect sometime back and they were not in good terms”, concluded Harry.
Police also recovered a gun from the suspect whose bullets marched to those that were used to kill the deceased which he was illegally possessing it. The deceased had 11 dotted wounds believed to be of a short gun.
Postmortem examination which was conducted by the Kasungu medical personnel revealed that death was due to internal bleeding caused by gun shots.
Meanwhile, the suspect is remanded at Matchaya Prison as enquiries are still underway. He will appear before court when investigation are completed to answer charges of Murder and Illegal Possession of Firearm.
Posiano Kaomba comes from Mwimira village in the area of Traditional Authority (TA) Wimbe in Kasungu district.
