Police Rescues A Suspected Thief From An Angry Mob In Malawi.

Police in Kasungu early this morning rushed to rescue a 30 year old man identified as James Phiri who the angry mob were baying for his life after being caught red handed moving 3 bags of beans and a bag of shoes from a warehouse which agro business people around Kasungu market keep their goods.

A police report made available to News Watch Reviews by the Kasungu publist Edna Mzingwitsa states that people around the area saw him packing bags of beans and shoes from the warehouse.

“After noticing that Phiri was a thief, people who were around the place caught him and some started demanding that they should deal with him but we immediately rushed to the crime to intervene”,said Mzingwitsa.

News Watch Reviews understands that the Chairman of Kasungu Market sympathised with the suspect, who later on informed the police who immediately rushed to the scene to rescue the suspect.

This incident comes barely 4 days after another suspected thief was beaten to death around the same area.

Meanwhile police have arrested the suspect. He will be taken to court after enquiries are completed.
