By Bright Chikele:
HAKAINDE Hichilema, like late president Michael Sata, has been fighting to be president of Zambia for the last 10 years and time has come for him to take over the leadership of the country, Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has said.
Mr Mwamba, who is Mr Hichilema’s presidential running mate, said Zambians should vote for Mr Hichilema because the UPND leader had the capacity to bring economic sanity to the country.
Featuring on a paid-for Radio Phoenix programme along with Chongwe parliamentary candidate Sylvia Masebo and a UPND youth Anderson Banda, Mr Mwamba said Mr Hichilema as an accomplished business guru was going to fix the country’s economy should he be elected president after the general elections next month. He said Mr Hichilema and himself were astute and prosperous businessmen who widely understood how the economy was supposed to be managed and would therefore make the best leaders for Zambia.
Mr Mwamba said Mr Hichilema had been fighting to become president of Zambia for 10 years and had acquired enough experience to govern the country in a prudent manner.
He claimed that had president Michael Sata died, Zambia’s economy would have been in a better shape than it was under President Lungu.
