By Bright Chikele:
PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu deserves the unqualified endorsement of all Zambians and his re-election would mean that Zambia’s destiny would be in the safest hands, Alexander Chikwanda has said.
Mr Chikwanda, the Minister of Finance, said President Lungu’s humanity, compassion, all-embracing and irrevocable commitment to serve Zambia diligently and dutifully stood the Head of State in an extremely good stead.
Mr Chikwanda said President Lungu’s attributes were the kind that should form the firm foundation and moral benchmarks for the country’s legacy to prosperity.
He said in a statement that re-electing President Lungu was the only positive way of remembering and honouring the memory of late president Michael Sata.
Mr Chikwanda said as Zambia was going to the polls next month which he said was emphatically going to renew the mandate of the Patriotic Front (PF) and that of President Lungu, it was important for Zambians to embrace each other and sustain harmony.
He said Zambians should learn to accommodate and continue with the spirit of tolerance which he said had made Zambia a place of distinction and a role model to mankind.
Mr Chikwanda said other citizens who were thinking politically different stood the risk of inexorably drifting into total and irreversible oblivion.
“In President Lungu, we have a person who deserves our unqualified endorsement. Our overwhelming vote for President Lungu means putting Zambia’s destiny in the safest hands. President Lungu’s humanity, compassion, all-embracing character and irrevocable commitment to serve our country diligently and dutifully stand him in extremely good stead. President Lungu’s attributes are the kind that should form the firm foundation and ethical/moral benchmarks and our legacy to prosperity,” Mr Chikwanda said.
